Mobile Payments

Flick’s technology allows consumers to turn their smartphones into mobile wallets, containing all of the credit or debit card information required for the processing of payments authorised by their smartphone at point of sale.

Flick is unique, as it has little to no hardware requirements for the merchant to be able to take mobile payments. Unlike some technologies such a NFC and mobile charge cards, Flick uses existing payment acquiring services and acts as a bridge between the consumer and the merchant, allowing all payments to be authorised by the consumer on their phone with additional fraud prevention tools.

Consumers using the Flick technology supply their credit / debit card details on registration which get tokenised in the Flick architecture. Merchants can then initiate transactions using a number of methods, either via a Flick virtual terminal or via the Flick API. Merchants will use the consumer’s Flick ID or mobile number to push transactions to the consumers’s smartphone for authorisation. Once authorised, Flick pulls all the required information needed for the payment and passes it directly to the merchant payment gateway for processing.

What this now means, is that users of Flick can now perform round-trip transactions for payment, authorised by the Flick client on a smartphone, without the need to supply card details each time.

We also track the exact location of each transaction authorisation, timestamp, phone device used, network connected to and more.

All this combined reduces the possibility of Fraud to zero as a result of the transaction being carried out, as there is no residual trace of card information left anywhere. See more details on our anti fraud tools.
